The Bela Session is the official release of Bauhaus' first studio session from January 26, 1979, where the legendary Goth Rock track “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” was recorded. The EP also includes previously unreleased material from the band in the form of “Some Faces,” “Bite My Hip,” and the original version of the track “Boys.” This is the first and only official reissue of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” which was produced in conjunction with the band and Leaving Records, in anticipation of the band’s 40th anniversary. The album was distributed by Los Angeles independent record label Stones Throw Records.
Along with the digital version, a white vinyl and black vinyl were also made available on the band’s bandcamp with the white version being limited to 1000 copies. Later, a limited test pressing was released, which was limited to 100 copies.
