Hey everyone, I haven't posted much lately about investments and trades cause I've been quite busy planning a few projects for Steem on the sidelines while being as active as ever on the platform because of the increased activity and user-base.

Before you read any further though, I want you to know that there are big risks with investing in cryptocurrencies and you should be aware of the very volatile nature they have. If you are not aware of this I recommend checking out coinmarketcap.com and inspect the price histories of the currencies you are interested in investing.
With that being said, there is one currency right now that is very similar to Steem but being developed by another team for another language and user-base. It's called Golos and the site is www.golos.io. If you have had a Steemit account from last year, your Golos account might have been automatically created and accessible by the same keys, be vary though that it may be a security risk to enter your private key on another site just like it is with having the same password on many different sites. Use your posting key if you want to try it out though as if that gets stolen somehow all that is required is to change your private key and it will automatically change all other 4 as well.
I haven't been all that active in re-searching what is going on with the platform right now, I'm sure more users here are and might be able to help you out with those questions in the comment section. I'm talking about Golos from a trading perspective and having been somewhat successful myself with it.
Some references and proof of trades, although as you know these can easily go either way but it has been proven to be more successful in the long run and for people who don't trade too often.
First post about the Golos crowdsale.
Second post about the Golos Crowdsale
*($ price of tokens at the time)
5 months ago I invested 0.1 BTC (~70$) and received around 5k Golos. While awaiting an exchange I started powering down.
In late January they were live on Bittrex and I had 418 Golos tokens liquid and sold them on Bittrex.
There I sold them at an approximate average price 10.25k sat
a week later my next powerdown
to a total of ~600 golos tokens for 0.064 BTC valued at the time at 66$
So having invested 70$ I managed to almost make my Return of Investment back in 5 power downs and being early at sending funds to the exchange.
What the Golos chart looks like right now.
First thing you notice is that there has not been much volume except for when it was added to a couple of exchanges in late January. It had a healthy downtrend with the inflation and after that ended and got hardforked it has seen a healthy rise in total market capitalization.
Not viewing market cap and zooming in on the price the chart looks like this.
The price per coin has topped at 10 cents in the beginning and for the last 3 months it has been hovering between 5 cents and 1 cent USD.
Golos Tokens that I have accumulated throughout this year. Started buying after the inflation was over.
~6640 Golos for ~0.114 BTC
I decided to start going back with another investment because according to alt-coin history as long as there is development an alt-coin of the first project has shown time and time again to gain interest sooner or later.
I am currently powered up 19,822 Golos displayed value currently at 514 $ after a total investment of approximately 200$.
244 Golos from Posting Rewards and 918 Golos from Curation Rewards, and trust me I haven't been all that active there since Steemit has taken most of my time.
Conclusion and thoughts
With a current profit of 2.5x, without even knowing much about the current development or planning of Golos. I would recommend to accumulate some now and then and power it up and start curating with Google Translate if you are having writer's block here or are running low on voting power. (I know I am)
No one knows how the markets swing and if you are new to this remember never to invest too much and try to just forget about it for a while. The best traders are the holders in my opinion, even if you forget about your investment totally, news about pumps are loud and echo through social media platform quickly. :)
Hope you enjoyed this kind of post. I know for newcomers it might be a lot to take in but you'll learn a little every day!
Let me know what you think of these kind of "transparent trading and investing" posts and if there is interest I might write more of them over time. Thank you.
More references of successful trades and investments posted on the Steem blockchain:
Buying 363k Sia for 73$, currently valued at 835$
Buying 10 Eth for 100$, currently valued at 920$
Disclaimer (have not held onto above 2 investments, so they are a bit hypothetical in this case.)
If you are interested in purchasing the Golos token, I use the exchange Bittrex.com and I've never had any issues with it.
(except for one time where they accidentally sent my Steem purchase to me twice ;))

I'm considering buying a little bit of Golos.
I really enjoyed this post @acidyo. I don't know how to invest and I keep browsing, reading and researching and meanwhile keeping my Golos and my Steem to invest later. I was thinking about using Bittrex in the future, as I read people experiencing problems with Poloniex, so I was afraid of sending my money there.
I just have one question, if you can help me solve it: when I send my money to Bittrex, how do I do to withdraw the money to, for instance, Paypal (if Paypal accept this kind of transaction, I really don't know)?
Thanks so much in advance!
great motivational post thanks to share.
