I have been active on steemit.com since July. I looked at Golos.io awhile ago and realized it was in Russian. I have been thinking every so often that this is a language that might be truly worth learning. However, when it comes to languages I do believe you have a far better education than my country does. Many (and maybe all) of you speak or read English.
I am familiar with Google Translate and can use it, but I know it can really make some bad choices and I truly do not want to end up insulting you when I have no idea I am doing so. Please let me know what you think of using Google Translate and if you think there is a benefit to doing my post in both English and in Russian (using Google Translate).
Who am I
I am a programmer, a network engineer, a game developer, a father, a grand father, a musician, a philosopher, and a human.
I care about the truth. Even when that truth is uncomfortable.
I am from the United States, but I care about all people of the world. I actually am rather fond of the encounters I've had with people from Russia over the years. They have always seemed like good people.
I have found this actually to be true when talking with citizens in just about any country. I do write and talk on steemit about politics in the U.S. because I have to live with them. I do not believe I or my government have any right to be dictating policy to other countries. So I will not EVER do that to my Russian friends I hope to make here.
I have had an interest in something for years. That something is called Perspectives.
I know that the history of things is very different depending upon what country a person was educated in. I am a big fan of history so I really like to hear and learn about different perspectives on historical events from the ones that are taught in my nation.
It is amazing how different a story can be when you can look at it from a lot of different points of view.
It is my hope that some of you will be interested in sharing in such journeys with me.
Its a bit different but getting the hang off it slowly :)
Yeah, this was my testing the waters. I noticed they don't have the image uploading features in this editor yet, which is fine. Just means if I post first on steemit I can come over here and use the images from there. :)
nice post
Thank you.
Welcome!
Thanks, I'm glad to be here.
Welcome @dwinblood! :)
Thanks friend. I just need to start thinking of all the things I've wanted to talk with people outside of the U.S. about. :)

Just testing the waters here, myself... maybe this is the nudge I needed to start learning Russian, which I have long thought about doing.
