Hello, I am writing this still on antibiotics in bed but finally starting to recover.
I logged in after long inactivity and what I have seen just now is that major changes occurred in the tools space:
piston 0.4.0 -> major change: merged libraries into python-steem, see https://steemit.com/piston/@chainsquad/piston-0-4-0-major-updates
python-steem 0.3.0 release notes -> https://steemit.com/steem/@chainsquad/changelog-python-steem-0-3-0
Steemtools that Megaphone was based on are completely deprecated now two days ago https://github.com/Netherdrake/steemtools/blob/master/README.md as they are merged into python-steem here: https://github.com/xeroc/python-steem/tree/feature/merge-steemtools
Well this can be discouraging at first as I did a fork for GOLOS that seems to be deprecated now. Things are moving really so fast that it is hard to follow up after recovering from illness but I think those changes are good as the tool-chain is now getting stabilized and concentrated in on place.
I will not throw the code away but leave as-is for now to see in which direction the python-steem goes. Since I know internals quite well now, I will be able to build on top of the new stuff. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
There were a few changes that I did here and there, perhaps I will factor them out into new tools/scripts for Golos.
@golos team, if you read this you may also want to check with @xeroc (who recently founded Chainsquad GmbH and @furion if the new python-steem libraries will be fully GOLOS compatible and what if anything needs to be changed). If it is not compatible a fork with new refacorings will still need to be maintained.
