I've been tossing around the idea of writing a regular journal on the blockchain. Sometimes I just like to ramble a bit and put some thoughts on the page.
Today at work, I pulled out my paper journal from last year and started reading. I'm always surprised to go back over my thoughts from the past and compare them to where I am now.
Where did my journal writing start?
I picked up the idea of journal writing from a well known motivational speaker, Jim Rohn.
"A life worth living is a life worth writing about"
-Jim Rohn
Taking Jim's advice in 2012, I began to write daily in my journal. Initially I treated it as a 'gratitude' journal. This is a journal in which you express your gratitude for each day. Through doing this it is possible to see each day in a better light, feel positive about the future and be generally positive in your outlook on a daily basis.
Gratitude Journaling
I had often thought that I was not appreciating how lucky I was in life. When I emigrated from Australia to the U.S.A, this feeling of gratitude for each day really began to grow in me. Having spent so many years in Australia and never seeing the other side of the world, I would wake up in the U.S.A and get excited about the fact that I was walking around this Earth on the other side from which I had been born. It would have seemed sad for me in this age of international travel to have never gone to another part of the planet.
Expanding my Journaling
Over time, the journaling became more varied in content. I would glue theater tickets on pages and I even glued a letter of resignation (draft) to a page as a record of that milestone day. Occasionally I would use it to affirm my vision and hope for the future. I have begun to believe strongly that the feeling of a future goal within us can bring that goal into reality. I would write those feelings down in my journal, so I could always reflect on where I wanted to be. The process of my emigration to the U.S.A, was an example of how a 'feeling' within me expressed in many hours of dreaming of a future potential was brought to fruition through the strength of that emotion. I had tapped into a creative force within me.
Golos as the Journal Medium
So I'm going to share my thoughts on Golos. Golos being mostly a Russian speaking platform gives me a sense of not having as many eyes upon my writing. It is, of course, an illusion, as anybody can see what I'm writing, but it is this feeling of a more private setting, that allows me to overcome some anxiety in baring my soul to the wider world.
A Favorite Fractal
I think this fractal looks like a spaceship flying through the galaxy.
Do not flatter yourself -) There are much more Russians talking English than foreigners talking Russian -)
Yes. It's a convenient illusion. :-)
Great idea @seablue! I am following you for more! =)
I've posted my second one already just as you typed your reply! Thanks for following.
