In this article I am going to speak about British valuables and to be more concrete, about family in Great Britain.
Family has always had a very important place in the life of the englishmen. Unfortunately, nowadays the life is very different. In fact, all the changes in the britsh society began after the Second World War, when people wanted to have more freedom. At this time women began to get independent from men. In my opinion, it’s one of the main reasons of all the changes. Family became less important.
British family is monogamous, it is fixed by the law. Though recently the amount of divorces has incresed. People are allowed to get married more than once. It often affects children who accept theit parents’ decisions with great difficulties.
British parents respect the independence of their children. They don't use a lot of control in yheir education. Most British children live with their parents at least until they finish school at the age of 17 or 18. Then many go away to college, leaving some parents sad and lonely in their empty nest and others enjoying their release from parental responsibilities. When British children stop to live with their parents, parents are alweys ready to help them and are always in touch. Also British parents respect the choice of their children in work and marriage.
