My country is a land that has a wonderful history to tell, history is forged by human beings, especially brave men and women.
Throughout the years we suffered numerous invasions and colonizations, in many cases we have resisted. Obtaining as results the wars and battles that the brave men of my land fought.
For his courage and patriotism I want to pay homage to my brother Correntino, José Francisco de San Martín y Matorras.
He was born in yapeyu. 395 km away from the capital of Corrientes, on February 25, 1778, Yapeyu is a small town of only 1800 inhabitants. Founded on the Uruguay River, José de San Martin is the greatest celebrity of the place, in his honor they created a Temple that treasures the ruins of José's birthplace, the San Martiniano museum and the Higuerón tree that the Guarani called them Ibá Poy a 300-year-old immemorial, gave shadow to the general when as a child he plays in the closure of its branches.
Son of Juan de San Martín y Gómez. And of Doña Gregoria Matorras del Ser, the youngest of five brothers, María Elena, Manuel Tadeo, Juan Fermín, Justo Rufino. He married María de los Remedios de Escalada, they had a daughter, Mercedes Tomasa San Martín and Escalada, whom Merceditas affectionately called.
